How to lose weight quickly, but safely and effectively?

The fact is that high glycemic index and high glycemic load foods lead to insulin resistance leading to the risk of diabetes. Also, since insulin is an inducer of the enzyme that makes our liver make the cholesterol, it can in fact lead to high triglycerides and low good cholesterol.

While only 30 percent of our cholesterol comes from our diet and 70 percent of it is made in the liver, we never really understood these ratios. We work so hard on the 30 percent path way which is the dietary cholesterol and many a times, we end up messing up with the 70 percent path way which is the cholesterol made in the liver. In order to reduce your weight quickly, live a happy and long life, you need to reduce your insulin resistance. So, if you focus too much on the 30 percent pathway for cholesterol which is the dietary cholesterol and go to the traditional low fatty but high glycemic food choices such as Cheerios, you can end up with worse cholesterol and health risk in the long run by causing insulin resistance, and worse cholesterol profiles as insulin resistance causes liver to make more cholesterol. As we discussed above, about 70 percent of the body’s cholesterol is made in the liver while 30 percent comes through the diet!
