Hormones are chemical messengers that regulate various bodily functions, such as metabolism, growth, and reproduction. Hormones are produced by glands in the endocrine system, such as the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, and adrenal gland. Hormonal imbalances can result in a range of symptoms, such as weight gain, fatigue, mood swings, and acne. Common causes of hormonal imbalances include menopause, thyroid disorders, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Hormones can be regulated through lifestyle changes, medication, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
