Tirzepatide, available as Zepbound and Mounjaro, is a once-weekly injectable medication that helps regulate blood sugar levels, reduce appetite, and promote significant weight loss. Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist and was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in May 2022.
Zepbound (tirzepatide) was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2023 for the following indications:
