Restless legs syndrome (rls) is a neurological disorder that causes a strong urge to move the legs, especially when lying down or sitting. This urge is often accompanied by uncomfortable sensations such as tingling, crawling, or itching. Rls can interfere with sleep, leading to daytime fatigue and difficulty concentrating. The cause of rls is not well understood, but it is believed to be related to a deficiency of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Rls is often treated with medications that increase dopamine levels.
