(as), also known as asperger's, is a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, as well as restricted and repetitive behavior and interest patterns. As a milder autism spectrum disorder (asd), its language and intelligence are more typical than those of other asds. Although not required for a diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical language use are typical of autism.
