Biostatistics is the application of statistics to a vast array of biological topics. It includes the design of biological experiments, particularly in medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, and fisheries; the collection, summary, and analysis of data from those experiments; and the interpretation and inference of the results. Medical biostatistics is a major branch that focuses exclusively on medicine and health.
