Egypt, officially known as the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a transcontinental country located in North Africa and the Middle East. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, and the Red Sea to the east. With a population of over 100 million people, it is the most populous country in North Africa and the third most populous country in Africa.

History
