Gastroparesis is a medical condition in which the stomach is unable to properly empty its contents, leading to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal pain. The condition is caused by damage to the nerves that control the stomach muscles or damage to the muscles themselves. It can occur in people with diabetes, as well as in those who have had stomach surgery or other medical conditions that affect the nerves or muscles of the stomach.
