Night terror, also known as sleep terror disorder, is a sleep disorder characterized by episodes of intense fear and panic during sleep. It typically occurs in the first few hours of sleep and can result in screaming, thrashing, and rapid breathing. Unlike nightmares, individuals experiencing night terrors do not usually recall the episode upon waking.
