Tesofensine is a drug that was originally developed as an anti-depressant, but it was later found to have potential weight loss benefits. It works by increasing the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain that control hunger and satiety. Tesofensine has been shown in studies to result in significant weight loss in obese individuals, but it is not currently available for weight loss purposes in the United States.
