The Total Diet Study is a program run by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that monitors levels of various contaminants, such as heavy metals, pesticides, and other environmental chemicals, in the American diet. The program collects food samples from different regions of the country and analyzes them to determine the levels of various contaminants in the foods that Americans commonly eat.
