Hypopnea is a form of sleep-disordered breathing characterized by shallow breathing during sleep, leading to a reduction in oxygen levels. It can result in excessive daytime sleepiness, reduced concentration, and increased risk of heart disease. Treatments for hypopnea include lifestyle changes, positional therapy, and continuous positive airway pressure (cpap) therapy.
